Family Story
Bread & Cheese
When Bobby started eating solid foods, he loved everything – lots of different fruits and vegetables, in nearly any combination. At one point, I thought he might turn into a sweet potato, he ate so much of them. Then he turned 2 years old and stopped eating anything except bread and cheese (and well-cooked bacon).
Bread and cheese in quesadilla form. Bread and cheese in grilled cheese form. Sometimes even as a pizza (hold the tomato sauce). Mozzarella sticks. Crepes with mozzarella, if he’s feeling fancy. Gigi introduced him to fried bread and cheese at Giovanni’s, and guess what? He loves that too.
(Oh, and he also drinks milk, which is just cheese that hasn’t been curdled yet.)
While we’re working on expanding his palate back out, you’ll still see a pretty common theme running through Bobby’s favorite recipes, listed here.

Bobby, age 5, eating a stack of bread along with shredded cheese by the handful.

Bobby, age 9, having a fancy lunch at a restaurant, ordering a grilled cheese.
