Ingredients
- 2 pounds ground beef
- 1 chopped or minced onion
- ½ cup bread crumbs
- 1 can of tomato sauce, divided
- Ketchup
- 1 tablespoon Worcester sauce
- 2 eggs
Instructions
Mix all ingredients (reserving 1/2 the tomato sauce) together by hand. Pour some of the reserved tomato sauce into a loaf or square pan. Put the mixture in the pan. Top with the rest of the tomato sauce and sprinkle with bread crumbs. Bake at 350° for an hour.

You can vary the amounts of the ingredients and season to taste. You can use any mixture of ground beef, turkey, pork, and lamb. Turkey is drier and might need more ketchup or tomato sauce. Needless to say, I use more onions. You can use cornflake crumbs or matzah meal instead of packaged breadcrumbs, or use bread soaked in milk and then crumbled like traditional recipes call for.
