Chili

Brown

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 2 green peppers, chopped

Drain off fat and discard.

Add

  • 1 large can chopped tomatoes
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Dash of red cayenne pepper and paprika

Simmer covered for 2 hours, stirring occasionally. Add seasoning to taste. Just before serving, add a can of kidney beans. Serve over rice.

Glenda’s Secrets of Success

  1. You will probably need more chili powder than the recipe calls for, but add it slowly because the seasonings become stronger as the meat simmers. There are many varieties of chili powder that you can use to vary the taste.
  2. You can also add more beans proportionally and different kinds of beans.
