Tomato Sauce

Burned by Tomato Sauce

For one of Rachel’s birthday parties, her tenth I think, all the girls stayed for dinner and I made spaghetti and tomato sauce. There was also corn, and probably hamburgers or some meat. As usual, I served the spaghetti buttered and seasoned, with the tomato sauce on the side. I was walking around the table serving tomato sauce to those who wanted it. Just when I was about to spoon some sauce over Rachel’s spaghetti, she said, “Wait,” and reached out with her hand to move the corn away from the spaghetti on her plate so the tomato sauce would not get on the corn. Too late! I was already pouring and the hot sauce landed on the back of Rachel’s hand, burning her. This explains Rachel’s deathly fear of tomato sauce, and she has never forgiven me for trying to maim her at her own birthday party.
